  • Planting, Growing, Harvesting Tips
10 Natural Homemade Organic Fertilizer Recipes
10 medicinal plants you should plant for a complete backyard pharmacy – this list is pretty awesome, and they grow pretty well anywhere it rains. I had no idea primrose was something to grow for herbal remedies!
Planting, growing, and harvesting of Carrots – My dad isn't alone in finding these guys a tricky veggie to grow! A lot of people have issues growing this veggie; these guys are cool season crops, and they need to be grown in the spring. This article goes through step by step how to prepare the ground for them, what temperature to sew them at (apparently you need to sew the seeds 2-3 weeks BEFORE the last frost date), how to sew them, and when to pull them. There is also a list of what to plant with them to help them grow.
How to make a veggie garden in just one hour! – Of course this one hour is minus the creation of the raised bed, going and getting the supplies and everything. The article and video assume you have all of the items at hand already – though it is a pretty decently easy to set up veggie garden for sure!
15 early spring gardening tasks – This is a list of essential gardening chores for early spring – a great check list for those who are experiencing their first early spring with a garden! There is some great advice like: don't be too eager! it goes through explaining what to do for early spring, and the article assumes you have snow. If you have rain instead, just ignore the snow statement, though the check list and advice are sound.
Seed Germination: What do seeds need to sprout? – A very handy article for those who are deciding to sprout their own seeds this year! The article goes through and explains how to get the seeds to germinate (air, water, warmth), how the germination works (self contained, has immediate food supply to germinate), how each seed needs a different condition given in order to germinate, and than a definition of air, water, warmth and how it is needed – there is a lot of information here!
Planting, growing, and harvesting rhubarb – This is a great article going through how to raise and how/when to harvest rhubarb. There is even a short history on the plant, and recommendations on the best types to grow in your garden! There is also information on how to store rhubarb.
How to start a hydroponic garden – This is a great article for those of us who have no yard. This article goes through explaining what hydroponics is, what the best plants are to use in hydroponics, and active vs passive hydroponic systems. I found that bit fascinating.
When to plant flowers – This is a guide to planting annuals, perennials, and bulbs. Very useful article going through the various types, including baby vs mature plants and when to plant them. There is also a chart on when to plant flower seeds for each kind.
  • Random Garden Things
How to hypnotize a chicken: two easy ways to calm birds – This is a useful thing to know! Helps to calm any high-strung bird.
oscillating finger method: place chicken on its side with a wing under its body. Hold it down gently with one hand. move finger back and forth in front of birds beak from tip of its beak without actually touching it, to a point about 4 inches away from beak – and repeat until bird is out.
sternum stroke method: place bird on back and hold, using free hand lightly massage birds sternum with thumb and index finger slightly spread out. Repeat until bird is out.
Bluebirds and house hunting with them – Besides being on the endangered list, bluebirds (along with basically all birds) are a useful creature to have around your garden. They help keep the pests down, and they are pretty.  These guys like houses that are lower down, and both mom and dad are truly devoted to the babies, so if they find a place in your garden, you will have babies. These guys are pretty cool, and they seem rather loyal to wherever they can safely have their babies. Great additions to your garden!
Slugs and Snails – This is a great article on how to get rid of Slugs and Snails in the garden – and why doing so is a good idea!
Perks of pigs: fun facts about pigs! – This is a fun article going through the various little known facts about pigs – like how intelligent they are, how friendly and social, and that they are actually the cleanest of the animals. Also, they have the best sense of smell on the whole farm!!

  • Cooking, Canning and Recipes
Cowboy Cooking
10 maple syrup reciepes both sweet and savory! – These are pretty cool recipes actually, like maple teriyaki chicken, maple mustard, maple granola, and more! Also there's a little bit of trivia, just to add to your plethora of useless knowledge. 😉
8 old cowboy recipes – And now I finally know what Mountain Oysters are! And how to make them. Some of the recipes on here look fantastic – like the easy pie crust!
Rhubarb bread – Looks like a great recipe, especially if you find you have a little too much rhubarb from your harvest!
Peas and egg fried rice – easy recipe that uses up those peas you don't want to go bad!
One-Year Shelf-Life Vitamin Bar for your stockpile – this is actually quite an easy recipe! You probably have most of these ingredients already, minus 1 or 2 things. Pretty awesome recipe!

Spring Tonics – To be clear, these are tonics made from spring veggies and flowers and weeds. Each tonic recipe offered here gives you a health boost of some sort; Dandelion tonic are loaded with vitamins, and they help you poop. Rhubarb helps with the blood and digestive system, and Wild Ramps (type of early onion) helps with vitamin C, and has a lot of other antioxidants in them. There are a couple more in here, worth checking out!
Nasturtiums – I can never remember the name of these flowers – I always call them the peppery flower. The seedpods can be pickled and used like capers, and these guys are major hummingbird, butterfly, and bee attractions. They are also a great plant to pair with beans, broccoli, cabbage, cucumber, kale, melons, pumpkins, and radishes – this is because they will draw away aphids and other garden pests from the bigger, better veggies growing. Kind of like those electric zappers for mosquitos.

Shocking Numbers That Show That The Middle Class In The U.S. Is Being Systematically Destroyed
Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian Peace negotiators Suffer Suspected Poisoning – seriously, this sounds like something straight out of a medieval times movie or something. Apparently these guys all suffered symptoms of poisoning – though they are all fine now. Not entirely sure what to make of that – except that someone doesn't want the peace talks to take place. They say it's Putin – though I am of the mind that when all the big-wigs agree on something, it's not likely to be true, and there is generally something else going on being covered up by the loud mouths. So I wonder who was responsible for the supposed poisoning? Perhaps it was just bad fish…?
Great run down of what Biden says that the m5m has to save him from – starts out with a short viewing of the odd way Biden eats his pizza. lol
Elon Musk: ‘The Washington Post should change its tagline to ‘Democracy dies behind our paywall” – beautifully put!! The reason he said this is because WaPo did not publish his full comment he made in response to the story of a Tesla driver dying in a collision while using autopilot. WaPo reported him as saying: for the 100th time, please give my regards to your puppetmaster'. What Musk actually said was: ‘The Washington Post should change its tagline to ‘democracy dies behind our paywall'. If you're so concerned about democracy, stop forcing people to pay for (allegedly) important news! Your boss Besos can certainly afford it, even after buying a support yacht for his yacht'.
Veeeerrrrryyyyyy interesting….
oregon ditches residency requirement for terminally ill patients seeking fatal medication to kill themselves – honestly I hadn't even realized that they had fully passed the suicide allowance. I'm not surprised that they previously required you to have a home before you were allowed to die – after all, how else would they get all your assets?? I suppose this is great news for those who want to die and have no home!

Governor of Utah has gone FULL WOKE! – He even put his ‘preferred pronouns' into his instagram bio! He has pledged to veto the bill banning men from women's sports – and he is so apologetic to the lgbtqrstuvwxyz community that I think he may have lost about 2 feet from cringing and groveling so hard…. I can only imagine what will happen to this dude if the world goes tits up…
Every NFL team no required to hire one minority offensive assistant coach; hire can be ‘a female or a member of an ethnic or racial minority' – Well, this will go swimmingly I am sure. When you start hiring based on your skin colour or your gender, you start losing talant, capability, and pride in your work. Why take pride in your work and do your damnedest if you were hired 'cause of your skin or gender, and know that you won't be fired for the exact same reason???

Strange findings about Ukraine now I'm searching:
Why is it okay for the Ukraine Military to pull people from their cars and shoot them? – They are stopping people who are leaving, asking for their papers, and if they are Russian (which a lot of people in Ukraine are…) they are simply shooting them. Why is that okay, but honking your big rigs horns is not…?
Boots on the ground report of Ukrainian army bombing… Ukrainian Civilians…? – If this were in USA or Canada, 2 of the countries we are slowly being programmed to hate even while living here, this would absolutely be shown all over and talked about everywhere…. So why aren't we hearing about this over here….?

USA – AOC claims Bidens polls are down simply because he's not radical enough. – 'cause that makes sense… has absolutely nothing to do with what happened in Afghanistan, the inflation, the gas prices, the Hunter Biden scandal, the covid policies, or his complete inability to even properly read a prompter anymore. Not at all!! He's just not radical enough… yea…
USA – Disney spoke up against the bill in Florida rather loudly – until they were caught in a sting a week later where 108 people were caught in a sex trafficking sting operation. Then they shut up about it!

This whole Will Smith smacking Chris Rock in the face thing has not only gone viral, but it is getting A LOT of attention. Now they are comparing it to how Trump got normalized because the crowd didn't walk out – and they are saying that Smith is being rewarded for his violence – What I saw, was a husband standing up for his wife who looked so uncomfortable and like she wanted to just vanish. It's not about the joke dude, it's about singling out the man's wife in such a way that it brings to everyones attention the effects of her illness. It was about defending her honour, and about standing up for his wife. If it had been anything other than an amazing compliment, Smith probably would have done the same thing.
I didn't see a man being rewarded for violence, nor did I see a man who couldn't take a joke. I saw a man who saw how upset and uncomfortable his wife was at being singled out, so he did what men have done for ages, and he dealt with it.
His award was for his previous acting capability, not for his 10 minute ago reaction to another man taking a dig at his wife.
When did our society lose its balls, that people can't see this for what it was? I would not be surprised to see my partner smack another man for cracking a joke about me if I were dealing with a disease that was slowly eating away at my sense of self worth.
How the hell does standing up for your wife/partner equate to normalizing violence? Didn't the summer riots for the past few years do that already? Look at the bigger cities – people are walking up and shooting one another in broad daylight with no fear of any kind of retribution. Look at the kids – teens are tying one another up and torturing – LITERALLY torturing one another, not just little things, but cutting, burning, and stabbing.
Standing up for someone you love is not normalizing violence – it's utilizing violence to make a point; now if Smith has beaten the guy to a pulp, or even gotten the guy with a closed fist and given him a black eye rather than a red cheek, that would have been overboard. Smith smacked him – much like a woman will smack a man who grabs her ass.
Violence can be used correctly – that is in small, controlled bouts that make a point. Anything more and it's not acceptable.
